Tanzanian acts Ravanny and Diamond Platnumz have been fined U.S.$3,900 by music regulatory board Basata over their ‘dirty song’ ‘Mwanza’.
The regulatory board deemed the song to be inappropriate for public consumption due to its explicit sexual content.
The regulatory board also ordered Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi Records to remove the song from all their digital platforms and for the artists to stop promoting the song on their business and personal pages or they will face prosecution.
The board gave tough conditions to Diamond and his record label, in a move aimed at solving the channels of immorality being spread in the country.
According reports, Ravanny was even asked if he could perform the song in the presence of his parent and he said NO!
