Music: Kojo Talr ft. Stay Jay — Logologo [Prod By Peewezel]

Young Afrobeats sensation, Kojo Talr, releases his highly-anticipated second single, “LOGOLOGO”, Thursday 6th December 2018, to the delight of the many patiently waiting fans. Kojo, the “Obaa Hemaa” singer, features one of the pioneers of the Azonto subgenre, rapper Stay Jay.

“Logologo”, the title of the song, is a childhood lingo which was used to describe queues. This term provokes nostalgic feelings and memories among both the young and old.

Complementing this term are borrowed portions of popular Ghanaian folk song, “Pimpinaa”, which usually accompanied folk dances and preceded folk tales.

Kojo Talr composed “Logologo” to specifically facilitate or accompany dancing, by basically merging Ghanaian folk dance with contemporary Afrobeat and dances to bridge the gap between the old folks and the youth.

The beat was produced with live instrumental performances with extremely minimal electronic effects which are largely characterized by strong beats with easy, uncomplicated song structures.

Like Waltzes, Tango, Bolero, Can-Can, Minuets, Salsa, Contra dance, Merengue, Cha-cha-cha, Azonto and other various kinds of jigs, “Logologo” also comes with its own jig, which is characterized by Springy dances moves and elements of Ghanaian folk dances. However, it is largely a free-form dance genre, with an emphasis on melody as well as a catchy tune.

Logologo is a midtempo Afropop song intended for nightclubs with the intention of being danceable but also suitable for contemporary hit radio. It has a strong emphasis on beats and grooves and comes with a prominent folk song as a hook. The lyrics are very nice and simple, with a polished production by Peewezel.
