Martins Joel Olayemi, popularly known as Mertez was born into the family of Olayemi on the 14th September 1996.

He hail from Omu-Aran in Irepodun local government area of kwara state.
His primary education was at st Mary Nursery and primary school Ajangbadi, Lagos state and secondary school was at Soltabaj Royal college Afromedia, Ajangbadi Lagos state of Nigeria.
He has his OND in Mechanical Engineering at Kwara state polytechnic, Ilorin, Kwara state.

He is a great and passionate singer, Rapper and songwriter. He started singing when he was at primary school, he also joined school choir at his secondary school, he participated in a lots of school choir activities and he plays a major role.

His music career started up professionally in 2018. Been able to get a chance to perform at shows and events, Mertez became more confident and willing to pursue his dreams.

He infuses his experience in both good and bad situations happening around him into his music and that makes it superb. He is able to create his style and express himself in his song and this influenced by this ICON, Davido, Wizkid and Burna boy.

His mom loves music a lot and she always motivate him. This made his passion for music grow stronger.
He has written a lot of songs and he was featured in some of his upcoming Artists songs and he also featured them too.

His family and friends gave him their full support and prayers because of the potentials they saw in him.
And with this, he knows the Sky will be his Limit.
