Controversial Ghanaian Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has revealed the root cause of the rivalry between him and Sarkodie.
According to him, telecommunication network Glo called on them for a deal.
So he conferred with Sarkodie and told him that since they have been in the industry for long and are known to be hardworking, that was the time for them to make some good money with the deal.
Therefore, he agreed with Sarkodie to quote an amount of $150,000 each for that deal. This, Shatta Wale revealed, was accepted by Sarkodie and they got ready to speak with Glo.
The Dancehall king made these and many other revelations in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on Joy FM.
However, Shatta Wale said he received a call from Glo telling him that Sarkodie had come to them and agreed to be paid $120,000 for the deal.
He said he felt betrayed because he had already mentioned $150,000 to Glo, and told them that Sarkodie would also take the same amount.
Therefore, Obidi’s less charge made him feel like he wanted to outsmart Glo, thus giving him a bad reputation.
As controversial he is, Shatta Wale said he called Sarkodie on phone and confronted him on why he behaved that way.
But the Highest musician could not give any tangible reason, and so he, Shatta Wale, threatened to go on radio and tell everyone that Sarkodie was living a poor life.
“That is how the whole thing started. Sarkodie is suffering but he doesn’t want to show because people think of him as rich.
He doesn’t have anything, that was why he couldn’t even manage Strongman,” Shatta Wale added.
Meanwhile, Sarkodie had earlier released a song titled Advice, to taunt Shatta Wale.
Now, the Taking Over hitmaker has revealed that it was after the Glo confrontation that Sarkodie attacked him with that song.
The two have many songs together including Megye Wo Girl, Dancehall Commando, and many other hits.
