A lot of Christians know more about Sarkodie than they know about some gospel musicians, Emmanuel Smith claims admist discussions with regards to gospel artists collaborating with secular artists .
The UK’s very own who is also a Ghanaian by the way has made this claims in a recent interview with Hitz1039fm’s Franky Five on the #ThisIsGospel show In attempt to explain why he would love to work with one Ghana’s premier and celebrated secular rap artist Sarkodie on Sunday 21st February 2021.
The narrative according to some stakeholders in the gospel fraternity has been that Light and Darkness have definitely nothing in common.
Smith who believes there are contrary rules to that narrative, said that as a believer, he thinks we shouldn’t limit ourselves to some of the things we do. “In as much as we continue to condemn and chastise Sarkodie because of the type of songs he doesn’t and how much we might not be willing to work with him, the most important thing I’ll consider is the contents of the song I wants to put out with the artist” he said.
The easy going, exuberant, creative, exceptional and multicultured artist explained further that Ghana is on the cusp of an art renaissance and on the music side the of things, one of the prime factors is bridging the industry in difference between Secular artists and Gospel musicians because they as God’s people needs to be daring enough to able to win souls for christ.
