Don’t reject election campaign gigs, it’s our cocoa season – “Nacee” advice musicians

Published

on

The creative arts industry in Ghana serves as a major source of employment to the youth. It provides direct and indirect jobs which helps the country reduce social vices and attract tourists.

Despite its glaring benefits, the creative arts industry continue to face setbacks. Successive governments have over the years tried to come up with policies to augment the sector yet all seems to be paying lip service.

Legendary Producer, Nacee in a celebrity interview with Central Music Awards 2019 Best Presenter Nominee, Amansan Krakye, of Radio Central fame in Cape Coast said

“It’s so disheartening to talk about failed promises over the years which have not been fulfilled, it’s not this government alone. But Nana Addo also promised to build event centres across the country and he’s almost going to the fourth year and we haven’t seen anything”.

When Nacee was asked by Amansan Krakye if he’ll advice his fellow musicians to reject calls by politicians to perform on campaign platforms as 2020 election approaches, in the face of the failed promises, he said

“I will never advice any musician to reject a gig from a political party just because the structures have not been laid properly.

“If for the entire four years you’ve not gotten any money from the politicians and it’s the election year and they come calling gladly take the money. That’s our cocoa season.

“If a crowd of 10,000-20,000 people will gather at a venue and you’ll get a direct opportunity to link up with your fans and get paid in addition then why not”

VGMA Gospel Song Winner, Nana Osei aka Nacee concluded by making an emphatic statement claiming to be ready for any political that needs his services.

“If NPP or NDC wants my performance on their campaign platforms I won’t reject it. After all, the same microphone that will be used to do politics, can also be used in delivering the word of God”.

A member of Shatta Wale’s collapsing Militants, Captan has threatened to ruthlessly deal with Kelvyn Boy.

In a video available to Zionfelix.net, Captan issued a warning to Kelvyn Boy to be mindful of how he speak else he will slap him.

Captan became furious following a comment made by Kelvyn Boy that the Militants are begging him for a collaboration.

He charged Kelvyn Boy to be specific about those who are begging him for the collaboration, whether Addi Self, Joint 77 or Natty Lee because he is not part of them and he hasn’t approached him for any collaboration.

Captan revealed he is now a solo artiste.

He was shocked about his colleagues begging Kelvyn Boy, whom he described as a small boy and Kelvyn Boy of yesterday for a collaboration.

Captan said Kelvyn is now bragging about his hard work because of the gross ignorance exhibited by his colleagues.

Shockingly, Captan stated that he doesn’t know Kelvyn Boy and he has not heard any of his songs.

This comes after Shatta Wale’s announcement that he has sacked the militants who were not writing any sensible songs and failed to make him and the SM fans proud.
