The 10th Anniversary of MTN 4syte TV Music Video Awards 2019 is over, which was held on Saturday November 16, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra saw Shatta Wale and Sarkodie dominated most.
The awards biggest award, Overall Best Video, was won by Kirani AYAT’s video for the song ‘Guda’ directed by David Nicol-Sey (North Productions).
Other winners include Stonebwoy, R2Bees, Okyeame Kwame, Wendy Shay, Quamina MP, Nana Boroo, among others. Two of the night’s big winners, reggae-dancehall star Shatta Wale and rapper Sarkodie picked up 5 and 3 awards respectively.
Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy announced as the winner of the ‘Best African Act Video’ award, he joins an exclusive list of Nigerian artistes who have won the much-coveted African Act honour.
The beautiful and colour ceremony witnessed outstanding performances from Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, R2Bees, Medikal, Kwaw Kese, Darkovibes, Lord Paper, RJZ, Quamina MP, among others.
The maiden edition of the 4Syte TV Music Video Awards was organised in 2009 to commend creativity in the music video business. Since then the awards ceremony has become an important date in the Ghana music industry and calendar. This year, curvaceous Joselyn Dumas and stand-up comedian DKB hosted the ceremony.
