Them Think Say Ebi Normal—Article Wan Breaks Silence on Industry Doubts

For over nine years, Article Wan has stood as one of Ghana’s most unique hitmakers, carving a sound that defies the ordinary. Yet, even with his influence, some in the industry continue to label his craft as “Konko.”

On his official Facebook page two days ago, he boldly wrote:

“They say my type of music is Konko but the fans still jamming to my hitz from over 9 years wooow. ɔmo fa no normal, Ɛnnyɛ normal no way. #ArticleWan”

The message was clear — while critics may attempt to downplay him, his loyal fans are the true testament to his legacy. For nearly a decade, they have kept his music alive, proving that his artistry is anything but “normal.”

Yesterday, he followed up with an even more fiery post, confronting how some colleagues in the industry perceive him:

“I know some of my colleagues in the industry take me for normal paaa but they don’t know that I know. All cus they think I don’t have a current hit song. SO F**KING WHAT? Edey smell now…. ”

The statement was both defiant and fearless, showing Article Wan’s refusal to be boxed in by trends or industry chatter.

And in another post that same day, he dropped one more blunt reminder:

“Them think say ebi normal woooow. Dey there dey play wai. Sia line ben kuraa nie…..”

Together, these posts paint a powerful picture of an artist who refuses to let perception define his worth. Article Wan is not moved by the labels, nor by the silence of colleagues. To him, what matters most is the fans — the same people who continue to jam to his music nearly a decade later.

The alien emoji he repeatedly uses says it all: he is not ordinary, he is not bound by rules, and he is not here to fit in. Article Wan remains a musical force who thrives outside the limits of “normal.”
