Samuel Ampomah, better known as Big Sam, is a dynamic and passionate figure in the entertainment world. His talents reach across music promotion, artist management, A&R, public relations, production coordination, content creation, and entrepreneurship. People recognize Big Sam for his creative problem-solving, deep industry relationships, and genuine commitment to helping artists grow.
Born on May 18, 1999, and raised in Accra, Ghana, Samuel developed a love for music, creativity, fashion, and entertainment. Even as a child, he was drawn to people’s stories and the power of branding. This early curiosity set him on a path to blend creativity and business, supporting artists’ journeys while building a name for himself in the industry.
As a music promoter, Big Sam has built an impressive portfolio working across Ghana, Nigeria, and the UK. One of his most recognized professional relationships has been with Emmanuel Smith, The Voice UK semi-finalist, for whom he served as both A&R and PR representative. In this role, Big Sam played a major role in shaping strategic campaigns and audience engagement, contributing to multiple sold-out shows at Indigo at The O2 Arena and strengthening his reputation as a capable promoter and strategist.
He has also worked closely with Richie O, contributing to releases, media campaigns, and overall artist visibility strategies that strengthened the artist’s brand in the gospel and inspirational music space. Beyond Ghana, he has worked with Nigerian artist Ink Boy, supporting promotion, public relations, and audience development across different markets.
His event promotion experience includes a key role in promoting Afro Nation Ghana, one of Africa’s largest music festivals, known for its global reach and cultural impact. His ability to engage audiences and support large-scale entertainment projects has further positioned him as a trusted figure within the event space.
A major highlight in his career was the promotion of Skylight at the Indigo O2, a twice sold-out headline event by Emmanuel Smith, which he promoted single-handedly. This achievement reinforced his ability to execute high-level marketing strategies independently and deliver real results in competitive environments.
Big Sam’s creative journey extends beyond music into fashion and visual production. His first major foray into fashion came through his involvement in the Free The Youth x Jumpman (Jordan) project in Ghana, a globally recognized collaboration blending youth culture, fashion, and international branding. Serving as an Assistant Producer, he gained hands-on experience in production coordination, creative execution, and high-level storytelling.
He further expanded his production portfolio by working as a Production Assistant on a digital cover shoot for Guzangs magazine featuring NFL star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The project marked a major milestone by combining sports, fashion, and editorial storytelling, and he was also featured in the magazine, further establishing his presence both behind the scenes and within the creative narrative.
In addition, Samuel contributed to music video and visual production work for two-time Grammy-winning producer Rexxie and artist Camidoh, further expanding his experience in high-level production and cross-border music collaboration.
He is also the co-founder of Ghana Music Blog Network, a platform dedicated to promoting music, enhancing media visibility, and fostering the growth of Ghana’s entertainment ecosystem. Through this initiative, he has helped bridge the gap between artists, bloggers, and audiences, while strengthening Ghana’s digital music culture.
Currently, Big Sam works with Sede, a creative distribution and marketing company that supports artists with music distribution, funding, creative direction, and campaign management to ensure their releases are positioned for success. Beyond execution, Big Sam is also known for building artist narratives, strengthening brand identity, and creating long-term strategies that help artists remain relevant in a competitive industry. His approach blends creativity with structure, making him a respected figure among artists, managers, producers, and entertainment executives.
As an entrepreneur, he continues to build toward larger visions in entertainment, media, branding, nightlife experiences, and digital marketing. His long-term goal is to create platforms and agencies that support talent development while shaping culture and entertainment experiences in Ghana and beyond.
