Zanzibar, Tanzania – The shores of Zanzibar are set to come alive as Culture Beach Jam (CBJ) lands at Kendwa Rocks Hotel from July 3–6, 2025, marking its debut edition outside Ghana. Known for blending beach energy, live music, creativity, and cultural pride into one unforgettable experience, Culture Beach Jam is bringing its signature festival to East Africa.
Organized by Culture Management Group, the creators of AfroFuture, CBJ celebrates the vibrant spirit, sounds, and style of Africa. Following its massive success in Accra, this expansion to Zanzibar represents a major step in building a truly pan-African cultural movement.
“Our mission has always been to celebrate Africa’s rich diversity,” said Ken Agyapong Jr., Co-Founder of AfroFuture and Culture Management Group.
“Bringing CBJ to Zanzibar allows us to connect East African heritage with the bold creativity we champion. This will be an unforgettable experience.”

Empowering African Entrepreneurs
One of the festival’s standout events will be the Black Ambition Pitch Competition, in collaboration with Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition, Fearless Fund, and AfroFuture, on July 4. Under the theme “Uninterrupted Ambition: Elevating & Funding Bold Ideas in Africa,” the competition will feature 8 entrepreneurs from Tanzania competing for a share of $10,000 USD in funding.
Finalists will pitch scalable business ideas in sectors like tech, media, and consumer goods. The top 50 applicants will be invited to an exclusive networking reception. Applications are currently open, with a deadline of June 23, 2025.
“We believe the boldest ideas often come from communities that have been overlooked,” said Felecia Hatcher, CEO of Black Ambition.
“By bringing this opportunity to Zanzibar, we’re investing in Africa’s future founders.
R&B on the Beach
On July 5, CBJ partners with Strictly Soul, Africa’s biggest R&B event brand, to deliver a unique beachside celebration of soul and connection. What started as a livestream during lockdown has become a continent-wide movement for lovers of R&B and good energy.
“Strictly Soul has always been about reviving R&B and building community,” said Akio Kawahito, Founder.
“Partnering with Culture Beach Jam allows us to bring together our audiences in one beautiful destination for the first time.”
Powered by Tanzanian Talent
Locally, Culture Beach Jam is working with Waazuri, a women-led PR and digital media company, to drive local engagement and support.
“Zanzibar is a cultural jewel,” said Valentina Ndibalema, Founder of Waazuri.
“This partnership signals a new era of pan-African collaboration, and we’re proud to help position Zanzibar as a cultural capital.
