One of Ghana’s most celebrated rappers, Sarkodie, known in private life as Michael Owusu Addo, is set to bring his iconic Rapperholic concert to Kumasi for the very first time. The event is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 27.
This exciting announcement was made during a courtesy call Sarkodie paid to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace. During the visit, Sarkodie formally briefed the King about the upcoming concert, which marks a significant milestone in his music career.

“Rapperholic started 12 years ago after I released my album with the same title. It was well received, so I turned it into an annual event,” Sarkodie shared. “Three years after performing in Kumasi, I’ve decided to officially host the concert here, and I came with my team to seek His Majesty’s blessings before making the announcement.”
The Asantehene warmly endorsed the initiative and expressed his interest in attending the historic event. He also offered words of wisdom to the award-winning artist, advising him to avoid unnecessary rivalries and remain grounded in humility.

“Do not engage in actions that may bring conflict within the music industry. Focus on projects that will uplift your brand. When honour comes, you will surely receive your share,” Otumfuo advised.
With the Asantehene’s blessing and excitement building across the Ashanti Region, the Kumasi edition of Rapperholic promises to be a memorable night for music lovers.
