This year the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will be 20 years and as they did when they organized the tenth edition in 2009, this year alongside the most prestigious Artiste Of The Year award they will also give out an award for that one artist who has done well for the past ten years.
10 years ago the ‘Maestro’ Kojo Antwi won the maiden edition and we are keenly looking forward to that outstanding musician who will win this year’s own which happens to be the 2nd edition.
Gospel musician,S.P Kofi Sarpong is putting his money on his colleague gospel musician Joe Mettle to win Artiste of the decades award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The gospel sensation believes that although all the nominees for Artiste of the Decades have done well, but Joe Mettle deserves the awards.
S.P Kofi Sarpong disclosed his support for Joe Mettle during an interview Ike De Farmer on Sunyani based Shalom radio 100.3.FM monitored by Kumikasa.com
“Even though all the nominees for Artiste of the Decades have done well, Joe Mettle deserves the awards. I’m in the studio recording a song with Sarkodie but i can tell you for a fact that he doesn’t deserve the Artiste Of The Decades award” says S.P Kofi Sarpong
In the special category for this year’s awards, the organizers nominated Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale, Efya, Becca, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, R2bees, No Tribe and Okyeame Kwame.
